Quick Apply Part-time 1 day ago Full Job Description Hound Housing Doggie Daycare is looking for a responsible and motivated individual with a positive attitude to work in our boarding and daycare facility.
This position is BOTH receptionist and kennel attendant.
We are open 6:
30am-6pm, 365 days/year so flexible availability is preferred and available HOLIDAYS/WEEKENDS are 100% REQUIRED.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a large groups of all shapes, sizes, and breeds in an off-leash environment.
One must also be able to lift 40 pounds, able to clean all areas of the facility, comfortable with picking up waste, and give basic grooming (baths).
Basic computer and office skills required.
The preferred candidate will possess the following characteristics:
Animal Care:
Must love dogs.
Dependability:
Honors commitments even under adverse circumstances.
Initiative:
Proceeds on a job without requiring detailed instructions.
Able to work with little to no supervision.
Persistence:
Demonstrates tenacity at solving problems.
Responsible:
Readily accepts responsibility for solving problems and handling unusual situations.
Stress tolerance:
Able to make sound decisions, lead effectively, and to remain calm under highly stressful and unexpected situations.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility:
Confident in applying own skills and abilities to new situations.
Client Service:
Deals effectively and courteously with clients regarding status of animals or any issues.
Teamwork:
Shares tasks/ideas with others on the work team, identifies where help is needed, and regularly works with others on the team to ensure productivity Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year working with dogs in a KENNEL environment- Please list where you worked and what your responsibilities were.
Starting pay is negotiable if the right candidate has experience in a daycare or veterinary facility.
Open availability:
Must be available on major Holidays and most Weekends (we try and rotate weekends when possible) Shifts are 6:
30a-4p, 8a-6p, 12p-6p and some days are split shifts so it is important to live relatively close to Advance, NC.
Must be at least 18 years old to apply High school diploma or GED required Good oral communication skills Great customer service skills Computer and basic office skills required Must be able to work with little to no supervision Must provide references.
