Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Conduct or assist direct reports with troubleshooting/investigating and auditing product and material quality issues, communicating issues to the appropriate production and engineering management. Conduct an analysis and make recommendations to resolve issues. Make decisions and solves problems by analyzing the information and evaluating the results to optimize quality and production.
Collaborate with fabrication management and purchasing management to lead troubleshooting activities on vendor related issues on purchased parts.
Troubleshoot fabrication quality machine and equipment issues acting as a liaison communicating between maintenance and fabrication until machines run consistently to expectation.
Audit, monitor and maintain Scrap Chart Summary Report. Collaborate with superintendents during weekly meeting to solve quality issues through current reporting tools (i.e., unforgivable list, controllable item, etc.).
Train, direct and monitor Quality Auditors on projects. Develop and manage audit protocol and communication activities.
Oversee raw material testing managing the process between product development and purchasing while product is in manufacturing process.
Identify process improvement projects and opportunities. Lead process improvement teams as needed.
Conduct 6S audits and lead other 6S team efforts.
Lead Six Sigma teams as directed.
Teach quality orientation classes to new employees to ensure that quality standards and disciplines are understood. Provide feedback on the follow-up class to the appropriate management.
Work directly with Plant Manager to develop and implement overall quality and Lean initiatives. Educate and management lean tool activity as needed.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, training, and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.
Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews.
Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
Make employment decisions and/or recommendations such as hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments.
Audit, maintain, and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records.
Maintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operations. Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and through safety compliance.
Support and ensure Ashley Furniture's policies and procedures are administered and followed.
Maintain reliable attendance.
Complete other duties, assignments, and special projects as requested.
Job Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma of equivalent is required
Associate Degree or equivalent work experience required, 4 year college degree desired
Experience:
3 years quality management experience required
3 years supervisory experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Blueprints and engineering specifications
Construction standards and methods of furniture construction
Machine set-ups and operations

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
