Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively recruit drivers and office level employees to generate a large and qualified applicant pool.

  • Provide council and guidance to management on recruiting related issues.

  • Screen employment applications; conduct phone screens setting up qualified candidate for on-site interview. Schedule interview with hiring manager, Human Resource Manager, and other interviewing panel. Arrange travel as necessary for candidate.

  • Follow through with pre-employment drug testing, references and background checks when appropriate.

  • Assist with the development and implementing human resources recruiting policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws.

  • Maintains measurement systems to analyze recruiting trends and the recruiting process.

  • Stays current with all related labor market information.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding recruiting policies, procedures, and programs in a timely fashion with the appropriate information.

Job Requirements

€ AAS Degree in Business Administration/Human Resource or equivalent work experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred.
    € 2 years of recruiting experience; previous experience as a Driver Recruiter, strongly preferred
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    € Effective recruiting methods and techniques including use of the Internet

  • Interviewing skills

  • State and Federal Employment laws

  • Highly detail-oriented

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • Solid computer proficiency

  • Familiarity with CDL drivers, the transportation industry and DOT regulations, strongly preferred.

  • Determine the suitability of the applicant for employment

  • Effectively source and hire the best-qualified applicants for open positions

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet

  • Remember and apply numerous company policies, employment law, and investigation methods

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Handle employee relation issues effectively and efficiently

  • Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
