The Electrical Supervisor I will work in the Construction and Major Maintenance Unit of Central Engineering, which is part of the NC DPS. This position will function as an on-site electrical trade construction expert for the completion of the Department of Public Safety's Force Account construction, renovation, major maintenance and repair projects throughout the State and valued at $500,000 to 15+ million dollars. Position provides technical expertise in the areas of electrical construction, repair and renovation and will provide daily construction activity planning in accordance with the CPM Project Schedule. Position serves as an on-the-job apprenticeship trainer and supervisor of approximately 10 inmate labor resources. Position is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations are installed per the contract drawings, specifications, and State Electrical Code.
The Electrician Supervisor I is a direct report to the Electrician Supervisor II and Electrical Maintenance/Construction Manager I. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES: Listed below are the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) associated with this position. These KSA's, along with the Minimum Education and Experience Requirements listed, are required in order to be deemed "eligible" for the position.
Qualified applicants must possess and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following: Demonstrated knowledge of electrical trade construction, maintenance, repair, and renovation projects. Ability to efficiently plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical trade installations with limited supervision and direction. Demonstrated ability to layout and install electrical conduit systems. Management Preferences: Knowledge of State Construction Office Guidelines, National Electrical Code requirements and OSHA Safety Guidelines. Journeyman Level Electrical Tradesman with experience supervising Apprenticeship Level Trainees. Two year technical degree from a certified technical college in Electrical Systems Technology and / or 4 years of relevant electrical trade construction, maintenance, repair, and renovation experience ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed during the interview. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and up to three years of journey level electrical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
