Design, Build, Deliver:

The Senior Instructional Designer‚ s primary responsibility is to assess learning needs and design and develop instructional programs for employees to develop their skills and to improve human and organizational performance. The training audience may include the individual contributors as well as all levels of a division or business unit.
Primary Job Functions
-Continuously research and learn about up & coming learning methods, knowledge acquisition, knowledge transfer, etc. and recommend new potential learning solutions; utilize knowledge and experience to build their own personal acumen in regard to the subject and/or audience.
-Conduct task and/or gap analysis to determine performance standards and learning objectives.
-Use strategic problem-solving and analytical skills to determine instructional approach and/or recommend other performance improvement intervention.
-Apply adult learning theory to design and develop instructional discussions and activities that align learning outcomes with learning objectives and organizational goals.
-Develop, maintain and monitor the effectiveness of management level courses that enhance their job and leadership skills.
-Develop training manuals and materials for both instructor-led and self-paced online delivery.
-Develop job aids and other references to facilitate just-in-time learning.
-Design instruction for highly interactive learning, including software simulations, business simulations and problem-based instruction; utilize multimedia editing tools to incorporate instructional media as appropriate.
-Perform formative and summative evaluations to determine a program‚ s effectiveness in achieving learning objectives.
-Lead and direct project teams focused on the development and execution of learning objectives.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Instructional Design, English, Technical Communications or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required
-5 years‚ experience in Instructional Design, adult learning methods and/or delivering instructor-led training or related area, Required
-Demonstrated effective analytical, project management, course development and evaluation skills
-Demonstrated application of adult learning and instructional systems design methods
-Demonstrated experience in solving instructional problems in a corporate organization
-Understanding of how typography, layout, color, images and interactivity impact design
-Ability to develop programs on the entire learning continuum from awareness to wisdom
-Ability to develop instruction for both instructor led and online learning formats
-Multimedia and online training authoring tools
-Learning Management System (LMS) course development and administration
-Adaptability and innovation resulting from rapidly changing business needs
-Solving instructional problems in a corporate organization
-Strong command of English usage and grammar
-Effective, clear and concise communication skills and instructional writing style
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Strong attention to detail, plan execution and program evaluation
-Effective time management and organizational skills
-Demonstrated project planning and management skills
-Work independently as well as in a team environment
-Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
-Maintain confidentiality
-Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints while maintaining working relationships with SMEs, stakeholders and other project team members
-Able to learn and become a proficient user of software applications used by various Ashely business units
-Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Instructional authoring software (e.g. Java Script, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Flash, Microsoft Publisher, Basic HTML, basic video/audio/publisher editing skills), internet
-Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment
-Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers
-Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquires

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
