The Senior Director of Distribution Centers provides strategic and tactical direction for multiple distribution centers within the Company, supporting domestic and global distribution of product. Directs the activities and oversees the distribution centers in their efficient use of labor hours and productivity to meet distribution center volume expectations. Applies accountability standards based on key metrics and implements change to continuously improve performance and increase workflow efficiencies. Drives operational improvements to achieve business goals as well as streamline processes and maximize operational performance to enable long term growth. Ensures effective utilization of space and equipment in all distribution centers, and ensures processes are effectively established, followed, monitored and optimized. Provides coaching, mentoring and support in the development of staff, and recognizes individual team success.
Scope‚ One to five medium to large sized distribution centers, ranging in size of 300,000 to 1.5 million sq. feet, with $12 to $21 million invoiced per week at each location.
Seeking a Senior Director to oversee our Advance, NC & Leesport, PA wholesale distribution centers.
Essential Functions:
  • Oversees the planning and scheduling of all distribution centers and their services including shipping, receiving, returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure the customer requirements and demands are met in an efficient manner.
  • Works directly with the Distribution Center Director or Manager to assist in the planning of short-term and long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and direction from Leadership and other Stakeholders within the business.
  • Accountable to achieve optimum performance levels and adequate expense levels of raw material, space, equipment and overhead to meet annual budgetary plan for each distribution center.
  • Analyze key metrics for each distribution center and ensure established goals are met in the areas of performance, quality, safety, customer satisfaction and budgetary plan. Improve performance and measure through use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste. Monitory damage and rework within each distribution center, and direct the establishment and implementation of distribution center standards.
  • Direct and coordinate various programs essential to distribution center procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, employee involvement, security, etc.).
  • Act as a liaison between department management and subordinate levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, safety, attitudes and results. Ensure awareness of the Company‚ s goals and objectives.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary in accordance with Company policy. Ensure the compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Initiative and coordinate major projects across distribution centers, (e.g., distribution center layout changes, equipment and space needs and utilization, capital expenses and major repairs).
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and make appropriate recommendations to Leadership as necessary.
  • Work effectively and communicate and relate well with others. Maintain effective and constructive working relationships.
  • Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area‚ s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
  • Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
  • Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
  • Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
  • Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
  • Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience, Required
  • 12 years of experience overseeing multiple medium to large sized distribution centers, Required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
